Chapter 385

Like that?

What does "like that" even mean?

Does it mean giving up on Judie?

I stood at the doorway, watching Mack, his face ashen and tense, his hands, hanging by his sides, clenched into fists.

"Mack, are you deaf? Leave, just leave..." The middle-aged woman, her emotions suddenly flaring, started pushing Mack away.

Stumbling from the shove, Mack's gaunt face turned even paler. He struggled to stand upright. "Can I at least stay with her till the end? Is that too much to ask?"

"My Judie... she's like this because of you. If it wasn't for you, she wouldn't be in this state. You owe me my daughter back," the middle-aged woman yelled, hitting Mack over and over.

Watching this scene unfold, my heart tightened inexplicably, and I instinctively wanted to step in and mediate.
