Chapter 854

Fanny had just finished with her last patient and was about to take a sip of her coffee when she heard a sharp knock on her office door.

She swallowed hard and called out, "Come in!"

As the door swung open, Fanny's eyes widened in surprise. "Mom, what on earth are you doing here?"

"I'm here for a check-up!" Joie's tone was as sharp as cheddar cheese.

Fanny glanced over her mom's shoulder, searching for another familiar face.

"Joie, where's Uncle Bob? Didn't he come with you?"

"Your sign outside says 'No Men Allowed,' doesn't it?" Joie's retort made Fanny chuckle despite herself. "That doesn't apply to Uncle Bob."

"What, he's not a man now?" Joie was clearly in a feisty mood.
