Chapter 87
Zeke wanted to make amends with Jackson Valar, but he could not even get the chance to see him, so all he could do was wait at the main entrance of Serenity’s neighborhood, hoping to run into Jackson. When he finally saw a Bentley pull up not far
from the entrance and a man coming down from it, he quickly got out of his car to greet the man.
“Mr. Valor, I’m really sorry for what happened before. My sister is young and ignorant. Please forgive us,” Zeke humbly apologized.
“Forgive you?” Jackson snorted indifferently.
“If you have any requests, feel free to tell me. I’ll agree to anything as long as it’s within my power to do so.”
Jackson stared coldly at the guy in front of him. In that instant, Zeke felt like his blood was freezing up. Jackson’s gaze made him feel like he was bring watched by a fierce beast. He did not even dare to breathe too hard.
“Actually, I owe you a favor,” Jackson abruptly said.

“A favor?” Zeke was perplexed. He had na idea when he did Jackson Valor a favor.
“How about this- I’ll spare the Shaw family as long as Joy Shaw doesn’t attend your engagement party,” Jackson said indifferently.
Zeke heard a sigh of relief. If all it would take was his little sister not attending his engagement party, it was a price he would gladly pay. Even though it would be a bit embarrassing, their family could just come up with a random excuse to explain her absence. It was a very small price.
“Thank you, Mr. Valor,” Zeke quickly said.
“No need to thank me. I should thank you instead.” Jackson put a hand on Zeke’s shoulder and slowly leaned over until his mouth was close to Zeke’s ear. Then, in a voice that was only loud enough for the two of them to hear, he whispered, “Thanks for breaking up with Serenity so cleanly. If you hadn’t, I probably would have to go through a whole lot more trouble.”
Jackson said that calmly, like he was thanking a friend in a casual conversation.
But Zeke broke out in cold sweat upon hearing that. If he had not broken up with Serenity back then, would he have become Jackson Valor’s target?
Was that what Jackson Valor meant when he said he owed Zeke a favor?
After Jackson entered the neighborhood, Zeke stood rooted to the spot for a long time, trying to calm himself down.
Meanwhile, Joy was waiting for her friends in a luxury clubhouse, hoping to cheer herself up. Her elder brother was too much. He actually blamed her for the bank’s refusal to loan money to them. He said the Shaw family was facing a crisis because she offended someone she shouldn’t have
Who did she offend? Serenity Lewis?!
She’s just a sanitation worker! As if she had any connections in the bank that would allow her to persuade the bank not to loan. money to them! He must be joking!
