Chapter 115
A feeling arose in him, telling him to protect her at all costs.
So many people had cursed at him for being cruel and cold-hearted in the past, yet none of them would ever imagine that right now, he would have such a strong urge to protect a woman.
“Don’t worry,” he assured her, “what you feared didn’t happen last night. I managed to stop it just in time when I got there.”
So… he really had saved her!
Serenity raised her head and stared bewilderedly at the face that was merely inches away from hers and asked, “But how did you get there in time to save me?”
He had not even gone to town with her yesterday!
“Have you forgotten?” He smiled gently. “You called me, so I managed to rush there just in time.”

But it was just a call! How had he managed to get there in time to save her when he was almost a hundred miles away?!
Serenity’s heart was suddenly filled with an inexplicable shock
As he spoke, he carried her back onto the bed and carefully tucked her under the blanket before saying, “Unfortunately, your hand was cut by fragments of the mirror, Sis. It’ll probably take a while to heal. If it leaves a scar, I’ll make sure to get the best doctor to get rid of that scar.”
Only then did she realize that her right hand was wrapped in bandages. Too many shocking things had happened all at once just now, so she had not even noticed the throbbing pain coming from that hand.
He then asked her in a serious tone, “How much do you remember of what happened yesterday, Sis?”
Serenity bit her lips. She then told him everything that had happened at the New Year’s Eve dinner last night without concealing anything.
Jackson’s face turned dark and ashen. How could those relatives of hers… sell her to that psychopath?! The sheer audacity!
He vowed never to rest until everyone who wanted to harm her received their dues!
Just then, Jackson’s phone rang. He glanced at the screen and frowned slightly before telling Serenity, “I admit that I was wrong for hiding my true identity and lying to you. I’m willing to do anything you want so you’ll forgive me, but you’re still in the hospital right now, so you should focus on letting your body heal and get better. I’m going to call a doctor to come see
you
After speaking, he left the room and instructed Connor, who had been guarding the door, “Serenity’s awake. Go get a doctor to come and check on her condition.”
Only then did he finally answer the call
“Why did it take you so long to answer the call?” asked Master Zack on the other end of the line,
“I was a little busy just now,” Jackson replied casually.
