“What? Jackson? Do you two know each other?” Caleb was surprised. As far as he knew, Aria was just a C- lister. Logically speaking, Jackson and Aria had nothing to do with each other.
“Yeah. We met once,” Jackson said indifferently.

before?”
Aria shuddered and let out a dry laugh. “I-I didn’t know who he was at that time,” she said and hurriedly smiled apologetically at Jackson, “Mr. Valor, what happened before was a misunderstanding. I’m really sorry.”
Jackson, however, simply ignored Aria. He turned to Lucas and said, “Don’t bring your girlfriend over again. I don’t like seeing her.”

After Lucas and Aria left, Caleb approached Jackson excitedly as he asked with interest, “What? Did Lucas ‘s new girlfriend offend you before?”
Jackson lifted his glass of wine that was half-full and downed it in a gulp.
Seeing Aria had made him think of Serenity again. Serenity could have stayed by his side and enjoyed a good life. She would no longer have to do such dirty and tiring work, and she would not have to live under another’s control, but why? Why did Serenity refuse him?
