Serenity softly clenched her hand into a fist and left the Sanitation Office.
Before she had gone far, a silver-gray Porsche stopped her. A man then stepped out of the car. The girls in the Sanitation Office had just so happened to be talking about him earlier-Lucas Gomez.
“What do you want?” Serenity asked.
“I would like to treat you to a meal and express my thanks,” Lucas said, opening the passenger seat door and inviting Serenity into the car.
“I didn’t help in finding your bracelet. You don’t have to do anything to express your thanks, Serenity said, moving her feet and trying to walk away.

Just as Serenity took a step away, Lucas raised his hand and blocked her way as he fixed his eyes on her with a gaze she could not understand.
“I’m not used to owing favors, so I must treat you to a meal, Lucas said in an unquestionable tone, his gaze becoming darker.
Serenity bit her lip slightly. Perhaps men like Lucas rarely encountered rejection. He might pester her the more she refused. In that case, it was better to just have this meal with him.
Anyway, if he really wanted to hurt her, he would have done so last night!
Serenity stopped arguing and sat in the passenger seat.
Lucas then closed the door, returned to the driver’s seat, and drove away.
As they were on their way, Serenity watched the scenery flying past. She could not help but smile bitterly. She felt everything could be justified when she graduated from college and became a lawyer, but the reality was different.
After going through many hardships, she learned not everything was justifiable. It depended on the other party’s attitude. If the other party refused to reason, she would never have a chance to justify things.
“What are you thinking about?” Lucas ‘s voice suddenly rang in the car.
“The silver bracelet seems important to you,” Serenity casually said.
A faint smile seemed to appear on Lucas ‘s indifferent face. “Well, it’s very important.”
“Is it that important? The person who stole this from you yesterday will be pretty miserable, right?” Serenity asked.
