Chapter 133 Audrey

I stood in front of my full-length mirror, meticulously smoothing down the slinky black dress I had chosen for tonight. The soft fabric clung to my curves, and I couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement as I turned this way and that. But my eyes weren't so much on the dress as they were on the subtle design pecking out from beneath.

Underneath, I wore the lacy red lingerie I had spent the last week painstakingly crafting.

It was so unlike the lingerie I had made in anticipation of sleeping with Max all those months ago; where that was an amateur attempt at looking mature and sensual, all bows and straps, this was... Simpler. More me. A sheer red lace bra with high-cut panties and a garter belt that attached to two black stockings.

My hair fell in soft waves around my shoulders, and I had taken extra care with my makeup. A smoky eye, a hint of blush, and deep red lipstick that I figured-no, hoped-would leave marks on Edwin's skin. My heart pounded with anticipation as I glanced at the clock. 9:55 PM. Time to go.

I slipped out of my room, taking care to close my door quietly. Just a few more steps and I would be out, on my way to see Edwin

"Audrey?"

I froze, my hand still on the door handle. Slowly, I turned to see Tina standing in her doorway two doors down from mine,

carefully wearing pink pajamas with a bag of popcorn in hand. Her eyes widened as she took in my appearance, from my styled hair to my sheer stockings.

“Whoa, hot stuff!” she exclaimed, leaning haughtily against her door frame. "Where are you off to? I thought we didn't have plans tonight.”

I swallowed hard, my mind racing, I couldn't tell her the full truth-she would never approve of me seeing Edwin again, no after everything. So I settled on a half-truth. "Oh, um... I have a date, actually. Tinder guy"

Tina's face lit up and she nearly dropped her popcorn. "Why didn't you say anything? I could have helped you get ready!"

I shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant even as guilt gnawed at my insides. "It's probably just going to be a h**kup. Didn't want to make a big deal out of it, you know?"

"Still, I'm excited for you," Tina said, flashing me a toothy grin. "It's about time you got back out there. Do you want me to drive you? Or I could come along if you'd feel safer, keep an eye on things from a distance_"

"No!" I blurted out, perhaps a bit too forcefully.

Tina's eyebrows shot up, and I quickly backpedaled. "I mean, thanks, but I want a little space for this one. You know how it
