Chapter 54

Chapter 54

The morning sunlight slowly spread across the room. Doris slowly opened her drowsy eyes and saw a handsome face just inches away.

She was nestled comfortably in Lewis’s arms, her hands tightly wrapped around his lean waist. Startled, she quickly withdrew her hands and scrambled out of Lewis’s embrace.

“Why… why are you in my bed?” Doris stammered in shock.

While she was flustered, Lewis appeared unusually calm. “Take a good look at whose room this is,” he said.

Doris glanced around carefully, realizing with a start that she was indeed in Lewis’s bedroom. Feeling guilty, she mumbled, “How… how did I end up in your bed? I was on the couch, wasn’t I?”

The last thing she remembered was watching TV in the living room and gradually feeling drowsy. She knew she must have fallen asleep there, but she had no idea how she ended up waking in Lewis’s bed.

“Maybe you were sleepwalking,” Lewis replied nonchalantly, now fully awake as he lazily sat up.

“Sleepwalking?” Doris frowned. “I’ve never sleepwalked before.”

“Just because you didn’t use to sleepwalk doesn’t mean you don’t now,” Lewis reasoned seriously. “The fatigue from handling your part–time job lately might have caused you to start sleepwalking.”

Doris was skeptical yet didn’t know how to refute it. She glanced at Lewis cautiously.

His soft hair fell messily over his forehead, giving him an air of relaxed sensuality. Without his usual sharpness, he seemed approachable for once.

His deep eyes, smooth skin, and thin lips were stunning, and Doris couldn’t help but be captivated.

While she was lost in thought, Lewis got out of bed. Watching his broad back, she asked, her face flushing red, “I… I didn’t do anything, did I?”

Lewis turned around with a faint smirk. “What could you possibly do? Take advantage of me?”

“That… that’s nonsense!” Doris’s face turned bright red as she stammered. “You’re a man, and I’m a woman. Obviously, I’m the one at a disadvantage here!”

Her flustered and bashful reaction was so adorable that Lewis couldn’t resist teasing her further. “You were the one clinging to me just now, weren’t you?” he asked.
