Chapter 141

Lewis reached out just in time to steady Doris. Her small face was flushed with an enticing rosy hue, her eyes shimmering with a watery brilliance.

“You look handsome in a suit, but even when you’re angry, you still look so good,” Doris said, her fingers shamelessly tracing the bulging of his Adam’s apple, gently rubbing it.

As if a jolt of electricity passed through him, Lewis grabbed her misbehaving fingers. Doris leaned against him, tilting her head back, her long lashes fluttering like delicate butterfly wings.

“Stop with the flattery.” Lewis wasn’t buying her compliments and reached out to push her back, trying to straighten her up. But Doris, instead, wrapped her arms around his lean, strong waist, her fingers locking tightly behind him, not letting go.

“What if I do this?” Doris stood on tiptoe, emboldened by the wine, and sneakily kissed him on the cheek. After pulling away, the smile in her eyes lit up, as bright as stars.

“Doris, you-” He wanted to call her shameless, but the more she smiled, the brighter it became.

He placed his right hand on the back of her head, his gaze as deep as an ancient well, void of any light. “Doris, you started this.”

After speaking, he pressed down, forcing her head toward him. He lowered his head, his lips just brushing against her soft, sweet ones. Since she wanted to act drunk, then he would get drunk with her.

The sunlight gradually filled the room, rays piercing through the windows. Doris furrowed her brows slightly before slowly opening her eyes. She sat up, rubbing her forehead, unable to remember when she had gone to bed the night before.

All she remembered was that she and Lewis were eating, she drank some wine, had a little more- After that, she really couldn’t recall anything.

Doris slowly got out of bed and tidied herself up before heading out. Lewis was already getting ready to leave. Hearing movement, he turned around to see Doris coming out to get some water.

Doris also saw him. “Are you leaving?”

“Mm.” Lewis adjusted his tie with a hand.

Doris immediately recognized the tie. It was the one she gave him yesterday, along with his entire outfit today.

“You–are you wearing that to work today?” Doris didn’t expect him to be so fast, wearing the clothes they bought yesterday already.

“What’s wrong with it?” He glanced at himself, seemingly finding nothing wrong with his attire.

“No.” Doris shook her head and complimented, “Mr. Hartman looks really handsome today.”

“Wasn’t I handsome before?” He surprised himself with the question.

“You’re just more handsome today,” Doris smiled while holding her cup.
