Athena's POV

As we continued to run, I suddenly felt free, no longer confined to the rules of my uncle, free to just be me as Artemis continued to run, her paws touching everything

that she could, keeping at good distance between Eros and the others.

'We should probably slow down a little don't you think?' I ask her, not wanting to get lost.

"Relax, Eros and the others are right behind us' remarks Artemis, happy, unaware we had lost them as we ran.

"You sure? I double check, making her pause only to turn and not see the others.

"Um..Oopsie,' whispers Artemis, a bit embarrassed,

"Artemis, you know we're faster than them, now we're lost' I scolded her, when I didn't see our mate or our friends nearby.

"Relax, what's the worst that could happen to us? We're in the woods?" asks Artemis, her senses on alert.

"Um, lots, like us getting lost in an unknown place. This isn't our pack Artemis, we don't know the area or the layout yet' I retorted, unaware of a figure lurking within the shadows.

As I continued scolding Artemis, the figure in question continued to watch us, waiting for their moment to pounce. Huffing, my nose suddenly picks up on a smell, a smell of something rotten making my stomach churn.
