Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 120

Athena's POV

"The Capital you say? That sounds exciting" smiles Gwen, happy that her daughter was getting a chance to spread her wings and have a girls' day with those who made her happy.

"I sure hope so. I've never been. My uncle would never let me go anywhere outside the pack before" I admit for a second time that day.

"Never?" asks Gwen, now shocked by my words.

"No... I'm afraid not," I reply, a blush now making its way along my cheeks as it did.

"How come?" questions Gwen.

"Don't know, maybe too scared that I'd run away or that I'd tell someone of what they would do to me. Either way my family never allowed me much freedom when it came to matters like that" I admit. "That's horrible" whispers Gwen, unable to believe her ears and what she was hearing as she did.

"Indeed" I whisper, my eyes now moving to look at my lap, unsure of what else to say to her. Having bottled up much of my life and emotions deep within me because no one else seemed to care about me Not true. There's Maya' whispers Artemis.

At the mention of Maya, I can't help but feel a tiny smile begin to rise along my lips. For without Maya in my life I was not sure where I would have ended up. For Maya was one of the many reasons that I kept going. My reason for living when everything else seemed to have been falling apart at the seams.

Deciding to shift the subject of me being unable to do much during my time at the Moon Walker Pack does Gwen move to ask me another question.

"Have you decided on who you're taking with you to the Capital?" asks Gwen instead.
