Jerome’s POV: 

Looking into Skylar’s fearful yet determined eyes, I felt like someone smashed my heart into countless tiny pieces.

“Skylar, I’m sorry but I can’t let you do that.It’s too dangerous!”

I threw my arms around her and hugged her tightly, as though I was scared she would somehow slip away from me right then and there.I couldn’t bear the thought of Skylar being taken away by Aldrich, the vampire king.
