Chapter 499: Piersons meets Bennets

Standing in front of the mirror, dressed in an elegant yet simple white dress, Penny's lips curled into a smile. Slowly, a hand appeared on her shoulder- Allison, gazing at her daughter's reflection from behind.

"It's not even the wedding yet, and you're already so stunning, my baby," Allison said, pressing her lips together as her eyes began to sting. "I can't believe you're... a woman now."

Penny turned to face her mother, who had been helping her prepare. She gently held Allison's hand, fluttering her eyelashes tenderly. Penny didn't say anything, sensing her mother was on the verge of tears.

Allison sniffled, stroking the side of Penny's head. "If things get hard, just come home, okay?"

Penny nodded with a smile.

"You're so pretty." Allison wiped the corner of her eyes, and Penny leaned in for an embrace. As she felt her daughter's warmth, Allison pressed her lips tighter, another wave of tears threatening to spill from her eyes.

"Mama," Penny whispered, resting her chin on Allison's shoulder, "I'll visit with Renren and stay over. I'll be here so often you won't even feel like I've moved out. We'll come so much that you and Dad will beg me to go back to my husband's home."

She teased, tapping Allison's back, just like she used to when consoling her.

"So, don't cry so much," Penny added with a pout. "Renren is a good man, and he'll take care of me."

"I know he is." Allison forced out a whimper, rubbing Penny's back. She then clasped Penny's shoulders, gently pushing her back to take a good look at her. Despite the tears in her eyes, she smiled brightly.

She cupped Penny's slightly plump cheek, nodding. "So, you should take care of him too, okay?"

"Mhm." Penny hummed, her eyes squinting as her smile widened. "I'll be just like you, Mom."

"Huh?"

"I'll take care of him, just like how you take care of all of us."
