Penny watched Lily cry while her parents consoled her. They scolded her mildly, telling Lily that they had always sensed Aiden was bad news. Unsurprisingly, Lily simply cried more, promising them she would listen to them more.

From what Penny gathered from this exchange, Lily's parents had been against Aiden from the beginning.
