Lester was not like the other men at the table. He was not like Charles, who had maintained a patriarchal hold over his family while still showing his wife has the same power. He was not like Charles's children-Atlas, who had made a name for himself and shone on his own rather than living in his father's or family's shadow. Jessa and Lester's marriage had always been a mystery. Given Jessa's personality, it was easy to assume their relationship was a disaster.
