Chapter 1804: Get rid of him

Nathalie’s eyelids dropped dangerously, her gaze studying the blank look on Jonathan’s face. Amusement flickered in her eyes, and she nodded approvingly. What she had said was true.

If Jonathan hadn’t chosen to be her enemy, he would have been a great asset. After all, everything happening now, and Nathalie’s rise to this point, was largely thanks to Jonathan’s meticulous planning. He had made things incredibly easy for her.

Sadly, he had made his decision to be her enemy, and everyone who chose that path shared the same fate: death.

Pushing herself up, she glanced at the men holding him down. "Throw him in the cell later," she instructed. "He won’t struggle anymore."

She paused, her eyes fixed on him. "Though killing you immediately would be a mercy I’d love to give, I’d prefer you see everything I accomplish. You’ll still be a part of my victory, Nathan."

Slowly, Jonathan lifted his unblinking eyes and met the cruel look in hers. In that second, he lost everything—his entire will to fight.

What was the point?

Why bother fighting?

He had lost the second he first approached her. She had known his plan all along, yet she let him proceed just so she could take every little thing that should have been his.

"Take him," she ordered, and with that, the men pinning him lifted him by the shoulders.

Jonathan didn’t even struggle, as if his entire mind had simply blanked.

Meanwhile, the man who had betrayed him looked at Jonathan apologetically. Seeing Jonathan suddenly lose his will was ten times more heartbreaking for him, but he had no choice. By siding with Nathalie, everyone else would be spared. If he hadn’t, all of them would be slaughtered.

’I’m sorry, Nathan,’ the man thought, lowering his head. ’I... will forever regret this.’
