Chapter 1839: How to start a new Chapter

Hours later...

Zoren lay flat on the hospital bed, trying to ignore the booming snores coming from Hugo’s and Mint’s beds. The room was dimly lit to let them rest. But even if he tried, he couldn’t fall asleep. So he simply stared at the ceiling.

Thoughts of everything that had happened tonight circled in his mind like a broken record. Just one night—and yet so much had unfolded in quick succession. But what he still couldn’t quite believe... was that it was over.

This was how everything ended in his first life too.

And yet, somehow, this felt different.

Lost in thought, his brows furrowed when he noticed movement from his peripheral vision. Slowly, he turned his head and spotted his wife quietly sneaking out of her bed, clutching her IV pole.

Zoren blinked, watching her pause.

"Shh..." she whispered, holding a finger to her lips.

"..."

Penny tiptoed over to the side of his bed while he slowly sat up.

"Renren, want to go out?"

"We’re supposed to rest," he replied quietly.

"I know," she nodded. "But... do you want to go out with me?"

Zoren just looked at her for a moment... then nodded. "Of course."

He would go anywhere with her, anytime.

Penny grinned and gestured for him to grab his IV pole. But instead of doing that, he simply removed the line.

"Huh?" she paused. "Why’d you take it out?"
