Chapter 4

Scott felt a bit troubled–getting into Milton School wasn’t easy. Not only was there the challenge of Elysia passing the entrance exam, but her starting over in seventh grade might be a bit embarrassing for him.

However, Elysia had that beauty factor going for her, and Milton was full of elite kids. If she made the right connections there, it could definitely benefit the Rosewood family business.

Finally. Scott nodded. “Alright, I’ll take care of this at the school this afternoon.”

Emma’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Dad’s gonna handle Elysia’s enrollment himself? He’s never even shown up for a single parent–teacher meeting for me before. When I joined the school, he wouldn’t use any connections. So why’s he willing to pull strings for Elysia?”

Jealousy flared up in Emma. “Why did Elysia have to come back and take everything from me? First my room, now Dad’s affection–what will I lose next?‘

Elysia looked up, surprised by Bella’s sudden willingness to help. Is there still a hint of motherly love left for her?

Scott nodded in agreement. That settled it–Elysia was going to Milton School.

After breakfast, Elysia changed into a white dress. As she headed downstairs, she ran into Emma.

“Going shopping? Want to join me? I can introduce you to some friends, Emma offered.

“Not going that way. Step aside. You’re blocking my path, Elysia replied, her voice icy.

Emma insisted, “Those are Dad’s business contacts, and it’s important to maintain good relationships with-

But before Emma could finish her sentence, Elysia walked right past her towards the front door, completely ignoring her. Emma’s face turned red with anger, and the irritation she’d just managed to suppress erupted again.

Elysia stepped in the Scented Carden in Sivro. A receptionist, who looked unfamiliar–probably new, asked, “Miss, how can I assist you?”

“Thanks, but I’m waiting for someone,” Elysia replied.

As the receptionist was about to say more, another receptionist, who had just ended a phone call, quickly tagged at her art to silence her and said, “Sorry, Ms. Rosewood. She’s new and don’t know better. Ms. Gordon will be here soon.”

Elysia simply nodded and stayed quiet.

On the second floor of the Scented Garden, two guys with totally different vibes were chilling together, sipping coffee. One was Zane Hartley. He was dressed to the nines in a perfectailored suit and had the aura of a super-sophisticated gent. His strong, handsome features and mysterious eyes looked like they were sculpted by an artist–a flawless masterpiece.
