Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Ava looked at the scene before her and quickly grabbed Elysia’s hand, worry etched across her face. “Are you okay?”

They had been stunned for a moment after hearing the conversation between their homeroom teacher and Elysia, and had only entered the classroom after her.

As soon as they stepped inside, they were met with a shocking sight that left them feeling uneasy.

Elysia hadn’t even been criticized in the office, so how was it that someone wanted to hit her as soon as they returned to class? This was way out of

line!

How could anyone lay a finger on such a delicate, beautiful girl?

One of the boys, seeing Eric, gave a sheepish laugh. “Oh, it’s just Eric. I just wanted to teach her a lesson.”

“Teach her a lesson?” Eric raised an eyebrow, tightening his grip on the boy’s wrist.

The boy’s face paled slightly, but he managed to force a smile. “Eric, come on,

have mercy.”

“Why do you want to teach her a lesson? Didn’t I say that you can’t bully her? Looks like your memory isn’t that great,” Eric replied, his hold tightening more.

The boy’s wrist was turning white from the pressure, and beads of sweat began to form on his forehead. It was clear he was using quite a bit of force.

Realizing that pleading with Eric was pointless, the boy turned to Elysia. “Can you please tell Eric to let me go?”

Elysia glanced at the girl lying on the floor before retorting, “Are you going to bully her anymore?”

“I won’t! I swear!” the boy stammered.

Hearing this, Elysia finally looked back at Eric and said, “Let him go.”

Eric first glanced over at Elysia, then at Grace, the girl lying on the ground, and quickly figured out what was happening.

He forcefully shook off the boy’s hand, a menacing tone in his voice. “I don’t care what you do with the others, but you lay a finger on her, and you’re done for!”

Eric made it clear: what happened to Grace and the others was their problem. But when it came to Elysia, no one had the right to mess with her, no matter what she did.

Ava now understood the situation–Elysia had been on the verge of being attacked, and it was likely related to Grace.

“Got it!” The boy clutched his sore wrist, a forced grin on his face.

Grace remained curled up on the floor, trembling violently. She had gone through this kind of thing so many times in Class 6: isolation, silent treatment, verbal attacks, or even physical confrontations.
