Chapter 98 Chapter 98 ས 3,70% +13 In the living room, Elysia went through the design plans and picked one to hand over to Caius. “I’ll be heading to Shecrity in a few days, so you can start the work then,” she said. “Got it, Ms. Elysia Rosewood,” Caius answered. After he left, Bella walked in looking angry and immediately asked, “You’re remodeling the bedroom?” “Yeah,” Elysia replied. Bella frowned when she heard that. The room used to be Emma’s. She had carefully decorated it, picking out every piece of furniture herself. Elysia couldn’t just change it on a whim. Even though she wasn’t happy, Bella tried to hide her frustration. “Why suddenly remodel a perfectly good room?” she asked. “It’s a nice room, but it wasn’t designed to my taste. It just doesn’t feel right.” “You…” Bella pointed at her, about to scold her, but the words got stuck when Elysia shot her a cold, icy look. The stare was so harsh that Bella couldn’t speak. Elysia gave her a sidelong glance and teased, “Am I wrong? It didn’t feel off to you? Or are you upset because it used to be Emma’s room? “I can tell that room was carefully decorated, and the furniture wasn’t cheap. Now you have to watch me replace everything, piece by piece. Bet that doesn’t feel great, huh? “I’m actually curious. Why are you so good to an adopted daughter? Could it be… that she’s your real daughter?” Bella froze, looking tense. “What are you talking about?” she snapped. Seeing Bella’s nervous reaction, Elysia smiled mischievously. “Why are you so jumpy? Did I hit a nerve?” “Stop talking nonsense,” Bella shot back. “Okay,” Elysia said, grinning as she headed upstairs. With the way Bella reacted, Elysia felt something was off and decided she’d have to dig into it. Maybe then everything would make sense. Back in her room, Elysia pulled a black box from under her bed and took out her modified laptop. She powered it on, typed in the password, and opened a page. Her fingers flew over the keyboard, and lines of code appeared on the screen. She successfully hacked into the school’s surveillance system. She found the footage from the classroom of Class 6, and adjusted the time to match the day of the basketball game. Smirking, Elysia watched the footage–just as she expected. 1/3 12:46 Sun, FED Chapter 98 70% +13 After copying the video, she wrote an anonymous letter explaining what happened, attached the video, and sent it to Levi’s email. Once she was done, she leaned back in her chair, casually playing with the USB drive in her hand, looking completely relaxed. She didn’t care much about what Levi would do with the letter, but she was pretty sure the school wouldn’t just ignore it. Because of her actions, she ended up causing such a huge problem for the school, and Levi wasn’t going to let her off easy. This time, Grace was on her own to fix it. When Levi saw the email, he clicked it open without thinking, but as soon as he saw it, his face tightened. So what happened this afternoon wasn’t just a student picking up the wrong drawing tube, but someone had purposely swapped two paintings. He watched the video of the girl’s actions, and his frown deepened into a scowl. If this was true, the school couldn’t let a student with such bad morals stay. Plus, all the time and energy the school had wasted because of her little stunt–did she think the school was some kind of playground? Levi rubbed his temples, went to the security room, and after checking the surveillance footage from the day of the incident, his expression turned even darker. This student had to face serious consequences. The next morning, Grace’s punishment was posted on the school bulletin board, drawing a crowd of students. “Grace was in Class 2, right?” “I used to be her classmate, but I never thought she’d be this kind of person. She’s got such a twisted mind.” “Yeah, she actually dared to swap the paintings. I was wondering why that announcement got taken down so fast. Turns out Vincent’s chosen disciple wasn’t Ava.” “If it wasn’t Ava, why haven’t they posted a new announcement about who it is?” “Who knows…” As Grace walked through the school gates, she saw a crowd gathered around the bulletin board, and a bad feeling immediately hit her. “Grace,” someone from the crowd recognized her and frowned. When the others heard “Grace“, they all turned to look at her. Seeing a girl with pigtails and black–framed glasses standing there, they all made faces of disgust. “That’s Grace?” “She’s a mess, inside and out.” “Yeah, I think ‘probation‘ is way too soft a punishment for her.” 2/3 12:42 San, 9 Feb Chapter 98 70% +13 When Grace heard the word “probation“, her heart skipped a beat. She didn’t care about the whispers and stares around her and pushed her way through the crowd. When she saw the notice on the red–headed document saying she was on probation, her heart dropped. So that incident had been exposed–and so quickly. She clenched her fists, and tears started to well up in her eyes. “Grace, you really surprised me.” “Stealing little things here and there, you’ve probably done that a lot, huh?” “There’s a saying that ‘Cats hide their claws. You’ve really got some bad intentions.” Hearing the mocking comments around her, Grace lowered her head, pushed through the crowd, and ran out. In Class 6, when they found out Grace had been punished, the whole class went crazy. “I never thought Grace was this kind of person. I never liked her.” “She always seemed so shy, but I didn’t know she was so nasty inside.” “Grace, talk about making an impression–now she’s the school’s biggest celebrity, but not in a good way,” a guy said, laughing out loud. The others joined in, laughing as well. Grace was already at the door of the classroom. When she heard the laughter coming from inside, she stopped. She gripped the straps of her backpack tightly, her head lowered, and tears started to fall. A student saw her standing at the door and quickly stopped laughing, tapping his friend who was still laughing. The laughter in the classroom slowly died down, and all eyes turned to Grace. “Grace, how dare you even show up in class?” a boy said. And once he started, the others joined in. “Yeah, have some shame!” “You actually framed a classmate. You’ve got some nerve. If I were you, I’d have run as far away as possible.”
