29% +13 Ava’s eyes lit up when she heard this. She quickly wiped her tears away, her face breaking into a smile. “Really?” “Of course it’s real. I was worried about Elysia too. Here’s the deal: I’ll authorize both of you to take a leave to check on her. Just remember to keep me posted on what’s going on.” “Alright, I promise to get the job done!” “Alright, enough chatter. Just be careful on your way,” he said as he pulled a pre–prepared leave form from his black binder and handed it to the security guard. Both Ava and Eric were taken aback. Ava looked at the finished leave form and couldn’t help but ask, “Landon, what’s this all about?” “What? I knew you two would ask for a leave, so I had this ready since this morning. But I didn’t expect you to go climbing over walls. You’re not acting like the students I’ve taught; this is just silly.” Ava, hearing that, didn’t get mad and just laughed, “If we’d known you had it prepared, we wouldn’t have taken this risk. We wasted so much time!” “Good to know,” he replied. By now, the paperwork was done. The security guard said, “You’re free to leave, but remember next time to use the front door. No more wall climbing.” “Thank you, Mr. Guard!” Once outside, Ava felt a bit lost. She thought, ‘Where am I supposed to find Elysia? The Rosewood residence is surely a dead end. Where would she even be?‘ Eric lightly tapped the back of her head. “Are you being silly? Just call Elysia, and you’ll find out where she is.” Ava finally snapped back to reality. Since hearing about Elysia’s situation, she’d been so panicked that she wasn’t thinking clearly. Luckily, Eric was there to keep her on track; otherwise, she would have wasted even more time. She dialed Elysia’s number again and called four or five times, but it just kept ringing. Growing more anxious, she was about to make a fifth call when a familiar voice called out, “Ava?” Turning around, Ava looked but didn’t see anyone. Just as she was about to wonder who it was, the voice called out again, “I’m right here!” The voice came from above her. She looked up and spotted a figure perched on the wall, raising an eyebrow. “Alice, what are you doing up there?” “Forget it! Just help me down first!” “Alright, give me your hand,” Ava replied, extending her hand. Alice quickly grasped it. Seeing this, Eric instinctively crouched down to create a human ladder. Alice stepped on his shoulder while Ava pulled her down, finally landing safely on the ground. “Thanks! You’re a lifesaver.” Alice bowed slightly in gratitude. Eric looked at him with disdain. “Oh please! If I weren’t in a hurry to find Elysia, I wouldn’t bother playing the stepping stone for you. But seriously, you’re not that tall–why are you so heavy?” “How am I heavy?” Alice retorted, then suddenly thought of something and asked hurriedly, “Are you guys looking for 1/3 16:00 Tue, 18 Feb Chapter 191 Elysia?” “Yeah, what, you too?” Ava raised an eyebrow at her. “I’m going to find Elysia too! Looks like we’re heading in the same direction!” “Who said we’re heading in the same direction?” Eric shot her a sideways glance. 林家29%會 +13 Just as Alice was about to argue back, Ava’s phone rang. Seeing it was Elysia calling, she quickly pressed the answer button. “Elysia, where are you? Are you okay?” Hearing Ava’s anxious voice, Elysia quickly replied, “I’m fine, don’t worry.” “That’s good.” Ava finally sighed in relief. “Elysia, I’m sorry, with everything that’s happened, I haven’t been able to be by your side.” “I’m ok. Are you alone?” Upon hearing this, Ava glanced at the two beside her and said, “No, I’m with Eric and Alice, and we were just planning to find you.” “Okay, give me your address, and I’ll have someone come pick you up.” “Ok.” The car arranged by Elysia arrived at school about twenty minutes later. After picking them up, they headed toward Arcanum House. Ava looked at the driver in the front seat, hesitating for a long time before asking, “Hey, is Elysia really okay?” The driver furrowed his brow, as if debating whether to answer the question. After about a moment, he finally said, “The master is doing well.” That didn’t clarify much; it actually startled Ava. She thought she misheard and quickly clarified, “Um… I didn’t mean your master; I was talking about Elysia. Do you “That’s who I’m talking about.” “No, I…” Just as Ava was about to say more, the driver interrupted, “Miss, your questions will be answered when you see the master.” Ava thought about it and decided not to pry further. She would see Elysia soon; she could find out for herself if everything was okay. The car gradually drove into a secluded area. Eric gazed out the window, feeling a bit anxious. He thought, “The driver’s words sound strange. Do we get into the wrong car, and it isn’t really Elysia who sent this?‘ He turned to the driver and asked, “Are you really here to pick us up from Elysia?” “Don’t worry, I’m not a bad person.” Eric awkwardly laughed and fell silent. Given the situation, they’d just have to take it as it comes when they arrived. The car stopped in front of Arcanum House, and the group got out. They were momentarily stunned by the sight of the old mansion. In Clusia, this place was famous and enigmatic; few didn’t know it existed. But they were supposed to be looking for Elysia. Yet they ended up here. Maybe Elysia was inside. 2/3 23% Chapter 191 “Please, the master is waiting for you inside.” Despite some hesitations, they followed the driver into Arcanum House. As they approached Elysia’s courtyard, Ava’s gaze immediately caught sight of Elysia resting under a tree. Tears welled up in her eyes. “Elysia!” Her voice was filled with joy. Elysia abruptly opened her eyes, a smile spreading across her face at the sight of Ava. “Ava” Ava rushed over to hug Elysia tightly, her voice tinged with emotion. “Elysia, are you okay? I was so worried about you.” Elysia gently patted her back to comfort her, “I’m fine. It’s my fault for worrying you all.” “What are you talking about? It’s not your fault!” Ava exclaimed, glancing around the courtyard before turning to Elysia. “Elysia, how come you’re at Arcanum House?” “Well, Elysia is the owner of Arcanum House, so of course she’d be here,” a voice chimed in. Everyone turned to see Elena standing behind them, and they were slightly taken aback. “Elena, when did you get here?” Alice asked. “A little before you guys. I arrived the night before last,” Elena replied casually. Upon hearing this, Ava pouted playfully. She felt a twinge of jealousy. But then she quickly thought it over: it was way better for Elysia to have someone by her side during tough times than to deal with everything alone. With that mindset, she felt a lot better. Compared to Ava and Alice, Eric was left speechless by Elena’s revelation of Elysia being the owner of Arcanum House. No wonder that driver kept referring to her as “the master.” He thought, ‘Elysia is so young, yet she is already running Arcanum House. How does that happen?‘ 3/3
