Chapter 21:

“I’ll give you three seconds,” Khloe said, turning back to face the two trembling women. “Three. Two…”

Lorraine and Sloane, realizing Khloe wasn’t bluffing, broke down completely. They dropped to their knees with a desperate thud, their pleas pouring out in shattered sobs. “Khloe, we were wrong! We won’t do it again!” Lorraine cried, bowing so low that her forehead smacked the ground, turning red from the impact.

“It’s all my fault,” Sloane added, her voice cracked and pleading. “I’m the one to blame. Just forgive me!”

At this point, they had completely lost face, and there was no point in trying to salvage their reputations.

Still, Khloe didn’t budge. She kept the gun leveled, her fingers steady, her intent as cold as her stare.
