Chapter 117
The three gathered at the bar that belonged to Zachary. The first thing Zachary did was ask Trevor, “Do you need me to give you some tips?”
Trevor poured himself a glass of wine and asked, “What tips?”
Zachary spread his hands speechlessly. “How to win Emma‘s heart, duh.”
Trevor huffed angrily upon hearing that. “She and Wesley are together! How am I supposed to pursue her? Are you saying that I should be a mistress?”
Raymond, who just had a sip of wine, was so surprised by the word “mistress” that he spat out the wine.
When comparing Trevor‘s image and status to the word “mistress“, Raymond could not help laughing out loud.
“Who said you‘ll be a mistress? You just have to express your feelings first. Besides, you can still get a divorce after getting married, right?” After Zachary said that, he realized he just poured salt over Trevor‘s wounds.
Before it was too late, he quickly tried to save himself. “What I mean is… they might not last long…”
Although he managed to explain himself, the words “you can still get a divorce if you are married” still pierced Trevor‘s heart.
It wasn‘t until this moment that he realized that even if a person got something and took it for granted, took something for granted, they would end up losing it sooner or later.
Noticing Trevor‘s pale face, Zachary quickly urged, “Bottoms up, gentlemen! Let‘s stop talking about all this crap!”
While saying that, he snatched the wine glass away from Trevor and handed him a bottle of freshly squeezed juice.
Although they loved to bicker with each other on usual days, they were aware of how important they meant to each other. Since Trevor‘s gastritis recurred and was recently discharged from the hospital, Zachary did not offer him any alcohol.
Trevor took a sip of some fruit juice and thought it was not thrilling enough.
At this moment, his mood could only be relieved by the burning sensation of alcohol gliding down his throat.
Pushing the juice aside, he reached for the bottle and poured himself a glass.
Raymond, who was beside him, kicked him and warned, “No alcohol for you. If you get sicker, no one will want you anymore.”
Trevor was rendered speechless.
Was he now a character that Emma despised? Was he no longer the aloof person who never took Emma seriously?
LE
Zachary agreed, “Exactly! Are you worthy of Emma‘s meticulous care for you over the years?”
As the two teamed up to persuade him, Trevor gave up.
Zachary and Raymond looked at each other silently, sighing helplessly in their hearts.

At the mention of Emma, Trevor stopped drinking, but he still refused to believe that he cared about her.
How long was he going to put this act up?
After the three of them got together and chatted, they went home, but Trevor was in a state of insomnia all night.
When he thought about Emma and Wesley together, holding hands, doing more intimate things in the future, he sprang up from the bed.
After tossing back and forth several times, the sky turned bright.
He simply got up, changed his clothes, and went out to exercise. He wanted to use jogging as a way to release the excessively turbulent emotions in his mind.
After running, he went home and washed up. Just as he felt a little lighter, Christopher called.
He picked it up and heard Christopher roar at the end, “Get over here right now.”
He didn‘t even have to think about it to know that Christopher must have learned about Emma and Wesley being together.
“Okay,” he replied calmly, hung up the phone, and drove to Christopher‘s house.
As soon as he entered the door, Christopher threw a teacup at him, but Trevor was well–prepared on his way here, so he slighuy turned to the side to dodge the attack.
His response infuriated Christopher even more, so the latter simply picked up his
canc and hit him while scolding, “How dare you dodge me?!”
After Christopher got out of bed and saw the news of Emma and Wesley holding hands, his heart broke.
Although he kept saying he wanted to find a good man for Emma, he truly hoped that Emma and Trevor could get back together. All his previous actions were just to stimulate his deficient grandson to recognize his feelings.
Some time ago, Trevor helped Emma get through the hurdle of being bashed on the Internet, and he also intended to send Arianna abroad, so Christopher was delighted.
While waiting for Trevor to pursue Emma, he received news that she got together with Wesley
Christopher was wearing reading glasses while holding his phone as he pounded his chest in distress for a while.
Trevor raised his hand and held Christopher‘s cane to stop him. “Grandpa, I’m going to the company later. If my shirt gets dirty, I have to go home and change them.”
He clarified why he dodged his grandfather‘s attacks, but Christopher was so mad at him that he almost choked.
How on carth did the Bateson Family raise such an unpleasant person like him?
It only took the angry old man to throw a teacup at him and beat him with his cane to trigger his anger.
He even complained that the tea would stain his clothes! He deserved to be abandoned!
Seeing that, Christopher‘s housekeeper stepped up to persuade him, “Your body won‘t be able to stand such a big fuss.”
While saying that, the housekeeper took the cane from Christopher‘s hand, so he could only turn around angrily and sit down on the couch, ignoring Trevor.
Trevor looked at the housekeeper and asked, “Is there breakfast?”
Christopher was furious upon hearing that. “Are you still in the mood for breakfast?”
He could not fathom why his grandson still had the appetite to eat under such circumstances as the former was already hitting the roof.
With the same expression, Trevor uttered, “I‘m still recovering from gastritis.”
The implication was that he had to eat breakfast.
Christopher grilled his teeth and turned his head away, telling himself over and over again that Trevor was his biological grandson.
The housekeeper also asked Christopher, “Old Mr. Christopher, why don‘t you eat together?”
Christopher roared angrily, “No!“.
At the huge dining table, Trevor was the only one eating elegantly.
Christopher was so upset that he stomped over and sat down opposite him. Through clenched teeth, he grunted, “You could bave won her heart back over a year after your divorce. Even a person of my age knows what to do. You could just go all in and pursue her since she already has feelings for you. It‘ll be easy for you to win her heart. But look at you! Do you still think you‘re a young master who stands tall and aloof, assuming that she won‘t be able to live without you? Are you still waiting for her to come back and beg you to take her back?”
Christopher continued roaring angrily, “Well done, Trevor! She‘s not gonna wait for you anymore. She went for another man instead! Go and bawl your eyes out!”
However, Trevor replied indifferently, “When have you ever seen me cry?”
“Stop being stubborn. There will be a day when you cry your eyes out.” Christopher was just saying things out of anger, but he didn‘t expect that it would come true one day.
Seeing that Trevor was about to finish his meal, Christopher suddenly suggested, “Should I take you to a fortune teller?”
Trevor raised his eyebrows and inquired, “For what?”
“To see if you and Emma still stand a chance,” replied Christopher.
He expected Trevor not to believe in superstitions, but his grandson put down his cutlery, thought about it, and agreed, “Okay.”
