Chapter 192

After Emma and Wesley finished talking, she went to prepare breakfast and asked Susanna to get up to eat.

While the two were eating leisurely, someone rang the doorbell of Emma's house.

She went to open the door in confusion. The person standing outside was a salesperson of a certain home furnishing brand, and she was followed by a few workers carrying boxes.

The saleswoman said to Emma with a smile on her face, "Mr. Bateson ordered several sets of kitchenware from us and told us to deliver them here."

Emma was speechless.

What is Trevor doing? Is he giving me stuff because he saw Wesley sending me plants?

Before Emma could react, the saleswoman instructed the workers to carry two large boxes into Emma's living room.

Susanna came over curiously, and after bending over to open it, she found two sets of exquisite kitchenware in the box, all of which were popular cookware these days.

She couldn't help but sigh and said, "I have to admit that Trevor is quite attentive this time. He knows that you like these things, so he's bought them for you."

Emma really liked this kitchenware because they were stylish, so she was very moved.

The manager then brought over a well-packaged box and handed it to Emma, saying, "Mr. Bateson specifically asked us to bring this mug here."

Emma was shocked when she opened it to find the mug Trevor broke last time, which made her feel extremely sad back then.

Susanna exclaimed, "My God, Trevor really found someone to make you the exact same mug."

Emma was surprised and asked Susanna, "How did you know?"

As such, Susanna told Emma that Trevor had asked her for a photo of the mug, but Susanna thought that this was an exclusive mug from Emma's shopping abroad back then, so he would definitely not be able to buy it. Moreover, it would be difficult to make an exact copy of it.

Unexpectedly, Trevor actually found an identical one, and Susanna sincerely admired his capability.

Emma was speechless for a while. She didn't expect Trevor to remember the broken mug.

The after-sales manager smiled and said, "Okay, our task is completed now. I hope you like our products."

She turned around and left, but Emma stopped her. "Can't I refuse them?"

Emma had just vowed to draw a line with Trevor, so when he sent her these gifts, she didn't want to accept them.

The after-sales manager said awkwardly, "Miss Yates, it'll be rather difficult for us if you refuse them..."

Emma thought for a while and said, "Forget it. Good job, everyone."

She still chose to communicate with Trevor directly since there was no need to make life difficult for these staff.

After closing the door, Emma stood there with a frustrated face, looking at the pile of things. Susanna asked in confusion, "Why don't you accept it? You can just give him something later."

Emma sighed, "I can't afford to."

The last time she gave him a pen, she felt immense pain when she saw the price.

Susanna laughed. "You don't need to send valuables; as long as it is from you, he will feel satisfied even if it is a piece of paper. Moreover, do you think he'd allow you to refuse his gifts?"

Susanna's remarks made Emma give up the idea of returning the things to Trevor. As he was so domineering, he would definitely find an excuse to send them back if she refused them.

The woman then suggested, "Why don't you use this set of kitchenware he's given you to make a delicious meal for him?"

Emma felt a headache coming on. "No, I don't want to be in close contact with him at all."

If she cooked and entertained him over dinner, they would be even more entangled with each other.

While the two were talking, Emma's phone rang with a call from an unfamiliar number.

Emma picked it up, but she didn't expect Steven on the other end of the line.

He said excitedly on the phone, "Emma, I heard that you acknowledged a legendary figure as your godfather, am I right?"

Emma frowned and said coldly, "What does this have to do with you?"

Except for a few close people around her, no one else knew that Wilson had acknowledged her as a daughter. Steven was no longer in Jonestown, so how did he know about it?

Almost immediately, Emma thought of the person who probably told Steven about this—Crystal.
