Chapter 296

Nadine's anger melted away when she saw Sean. He had finished his ice cream and was sitting on a small stool, reading a storybook while waiting for Nadine to help him with his bath.

When he saw her, he immediately put down the book, threw his arms around her, and called out sweetly, "Mommy!"

Sean knew he had already upset Nadine and couldn't afford to make her more angry. He wanted to cheer her up. Seeing his innocent face, Nadine's anger quickly faded. Her irritation melted completely when she saw the worry in his eyes.

She picked him up, pinched his little nose, and gently chided him, "You know you're not supposed to eat cold food. What if your stomach hurts later?"

Sean looked down with a pout and said apologetically, "Mommy, I'm sorry. I won't do it again."

Sean's remorseful expression made Nadine's heart soften. She didn't scold him further but instead sat down, letting him sit on her lap while she talked gently to him. She filled the bathwater for him and helped him get ready for bed.

11:00 pm. Not wanting

His patience wore thin, and he went to Sean's room. When he saw Nadine asleep with Sean on the small bed, a
