Chapter 433

Brad had a sliver of clarity left in his mind as he watched Nadine reach for the divorce papers on the coffee table. His temples throbbed with anger.

Unfortunately, he had to play the part of a drunken man who'd lost all sense of direction. He couldn't afford to say the wrong thing. If she figured out that he was sober, she would never go home with him. So, he pretended to be lightheaded and leaned his head against her shoulder.

Nadine was well aware that he was drunk and that there was no point in arguing with a drunk man. Ignoring his antics, her mind focused solely on getting him home and making him sign the divorce agreement. If he hadn't been so wasted, she would have kicked him into the toilet without a second thought.

It was a bit of a struggle to gather the divorce agreement because Brad was leaning on her. For some reason, it felt like the weight on her shoulder was increasing. It was as though... Brad was intentionally putting all his weight on her.

Could he be faking it? As soon as that thought crossed her mind, she stopped what she was doing, turned her head, and looked at the man leaning on her shoulder.

Nadine wanted to know if he was faking it, but his eyes were lowered, his long lashes casting shadows over his face, making it impossible to tell if he was pretending.

Nadine composed herself and decided to set Brad down on the couch. She would help him out of there as soon as she gathered her belongings.
