Chapter 650

Nadine wasn't in the mood to entertain Victoria's bullshit. She grabbed her by the hair and shoved her against the cold, hard wall.

"Who do you think you are? Do you think I'm doing this because I have nothing better to do? If it weren't for your brother, I wouldn't spare you a glance even if you were lying dead at my feet! He entrusted you to me, and I have to look after you because that's what I promised him!

"Listen up, Victoria Clarke. From now on, you're not going to school anymore. You're going to stay here and take care of Grandma Sophie. And I'll see to it that you have food on the table.

"Of course, you could choose to ignore me and go wherever you please, but remember this: the moment you decide to leave, you'll have nothing to do with Grandma Sophie anymore, and you won't be a part of the Clarke family any longer!

After being on the receiving end of Nadine's harsh scolding, Victoria's rebellious spirit dimmed. With tears in her eyes, she huffed a couple of times before muttering, "That's easy for you to say... Do you even have the money to put food on my table? Or are you counting on your ex-husband?"

Nadine slapped her again. "Just focus on taking care of Grandma Sophie. That's not something you need to worry about!"
