Xavier trudged upstairs, his mind racing with thoughts of Yonas and Yasmine leaving together. He frowned, unable to shake the growing suspicion inside him, and lit at cigarette.. 'Could it be true that Yasmine actually betrayed me during our marriage?' he wondered. The cold, decisive way she had acted during their divorce made the thought hit home. Taking a long drag from his cigarette, Xavier pulled out his phone and found a number he rarely called. Curiosity and doubt gnawed at him. He felt like he had to confront Yasmine. The call connected almost immediately, but instead of hearing Yasmine's voice, he got a robotic response, "The number you have dialed is not in service."
Xavier frowned and hung up, stubbornly deciding to give it another shot. "The number you have dialed is not..."
He hung up in frustration, squeezing his phone with anger. "Damn it, Yasmine! She actually blocked me!'
