Chapter 40

Ximena couldn't hide her envy as she flattered Helen. "Oh my gosh, Helen! Xavier treats you so well. I heard the CEO is super busy, but he still finds ti to pick you up." Helen loved the compliments. A smirk crossed her face as she replied. "Hmph, obviously! My brother is the best. He spoils me rotten."

"Seriously. Helen, I'm so jealous. You've got the looks, a great family, and an awesome brother... Ugh. I haven't even been in a Maserati, Ximena complimented. She believed Helen would let her take it for a spin. That way, she could snap some pictures and show off to her high school friends. Just as Ximena thought, Helen scoffed, "You're really acting all starry-eyed. I'll have Xavier give you a ride later." With that, she strutted over to Xavier.

"Hey, what brings you here to pick me up today, Xavier?" Helen called out, savoring the envious stares from her classmates. She had never felt so important.

Helen paused and felt Ximena's questioning eyes on her. A wave of frustration washed. over her, but she tried to hint to Xavier to lighten up. "Come on, you're joking, right? You're here to pick me up... Hey! Xavier!" Before she could finish, Xavier ignored her and walked past toward the school. calling out loudly, "Yasmine!"
