Hearing the familiar voice, Yoselin felt a wave of calm wash over her. She stopped her frantic actions, letting the pillow in her hand drop to the floor. She looked at Yonas in confusion, her eyes wary. But as she realized it was truly Yonas, the wariness started to melt away. "Yonas?" Yoselin called out hesitantly.

The worry in Yonas's eyes gradually faded, leaving only a gentle look. "Yoselin, it's me, your brother," he assured her. He approached slowly, careful not to alarm her, and gently took the cup from her left hand. "Yoselin, look at my face. I'm your brother," Yonas told her.

"Yonas?" she mumbled, her expression turning strange. "Liar. You want to kill me, don't you? You want to eat me, right?" The word "cat" seemed to call up her darkest memories.

Yoselin suddenly turned pale and crouched down, curling up in fear. She hugged her head and whimpered, "Don't eat me, please don't."

Yonas looked at her with sympathy and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Yoselin, don't be scared. I'm here to protect you," he reassured her.

"You're lying to us! You said you'd protect me, but you never came. Yasmine was eaten, and you didn't show up at all," Yoselin cried, tears streaming down her face.

Yonas squinted slightly at Yoselin's outburst. "Yoselin, listen. Yasmine is fine; she hasn't been eaten."

"Yes," Yoselin insisted. With a wild look at Yonas, she abruptly rolled up her sleeve and bit her scarred arm.

Before Yonas could react, she had already left a large bite mark on her arm.

"Yoselin," Yonas's voice carried a warning, "let go." He tried to lift her chin, but she was clamped tight.

Unable to do anything else, he forced her jaws apart and held her still. "Yoselin, wake up," Yonas pleaded.

Yoselin's words were so terrifying that they instantly brought to Yonas's mind the vivid memories of the bloody scenes he had witnessed in the past. Those images were etched indelibly in his mind.

The noise was so loud that Nathan came over, and the butler hurried in, looking panicked.
