Chapter 7 7: That's an act

Eveline reached Aspen College using the same route where Tiffany would wait for her, but today she didn't see her standing at the stop as usual.

Maybe her words from yesterday indeed alerted her and she finally gave up the idea of using her as a ladder for success.

Before long, Eveline noticed Gabriel's vehicle pulling up to the college entrance and stopping beside hers. But her eyebrows knitted at the one that leaped out.

Tiffany got out of the car first, followed by Gabriel, and as soon as they locked eyes, her so-called friend muttered something to him and hurried over to be by her side.

Eveline, who was staring at Gabriel, gave herself a mental snicker before turning to face Tiffany, who had by now moved to stand beside her.

"I am sure you are wondering how Gabriel and I arrived together." Tiffany's annoying voice made Eveline cringe inwardly, but she continued to keep on smiling and said.

Tiffany's smile faltered and her eyes narrowed at her remark.

"What did you say?" She asked again, making sure she understood what Eveline meant to say.

As soon as Eveline realized what she had said in jest, she quickly corrected herself.
