Chapter 115 115: What will happen if I do not stop?

"Ugh! Why isn't there any signal here?" Ella let out a frustrated sigh and looked through her phone to see if there was any sign of connectivity.

Regretfully, their vehicle broke down in the middle of nowhere, and her phone was abandoning her at this point.

"I suggest you stand on the bonnet for a better try." Ella gave Stefan a glare when he made such a taunting and sarcastic comment.

"Only you bear the blame. Why didn't you examine your car's condition? Now, how will we get home? Ella cried out in frustration, but she did not realize until a moment later that her phone's screen had gone black.

Weeping for their misfortune, Ella pushed the phone back into her bag and ran to Stefan.

"Go get help. We can't stay here for too long."

Stefan furrowed his brow in response to her stern tone. "Maybe you go get some assistance. I will wait for you back here in the interim."

Ella parted her lips in shock. As a man, he was requesting that she proceed to seek assistance on this narrow, shadowy road. What if she was attacked by a wild boar or, worse, if some thugs tried to exploit her?

"Tsk, Tsk. You said you would keep me safe. "Is this how you are going to accomplish this—by sending me away by myself?" Ella exclaimed, shocked.

Then stop talking and give me some time to think, or else you can go get help and I will stay in the car," Stefan sternly told her, fed up with her needless anxiety.

Yes, they were stranded in the middle of nowhere, unable to even receive signals on their phone so they could make a call. Stefan did, however, remember seeing a motel on their way back from their driving location.

"Take your belongings and follow me," he said, abruptly, confusing Ella. Nevertheless, she did as he asked and soon they were walking in the direction they had driven earlier.

After strolling for twenty minutes, Ella finally let out a sigh of relief when they discovered the same motel they had seen earlier. But that momentary relief vanished as soon as she took in the setting's appearance and shot her head in Stefan's direction.

Stefan, on the other hand, chose to ignore her and made his way over to the motel.

Ella had never spent a day outside of her home and was terrified that a ghost might be living in the motel after hearing some unusual news about places as such.

Ella followed Stefan silently until they arrived at reception, where they heard a warming weather prediction on the radio.

Ella was already crying from their dismay when the sudden rain made her cry even harder emotionally.

She looked at Stefan from the side and saw him serene as if he didn't care about anything that happened to them, but he wasn't always this relaxed.

"I'm sorry, sir, but we only have one room available right now," the receptionist apologized.
