Chapter 195 195: Adoption papers

"I suppose I will get something out of this," Eveline sighed as she looked at the old photo albums in front of her.

She had used them once to learn more about Jacob because they contained many memories from her past, and she was now confident that these albums would help her overcome her restlessness.

Her eyes gleam with joy, tears, and delight as she peruses the pictures further, carrying her mother's memories with her.

Eveline continued to go through each album, from the clear to the one that had become so old that the photos were blurry, when her eyes caught someone and she paused.

"Who is this child with Grandpa?" She muttered as she looked at the photograph of her grandfather holding a baby in his hand.

Though this is the only picture of him among all the ones, Eveline was aware that the child was not her father at the time.

An insatiable curiosity spurred her to check if there was another photo of him, so she did. To her dismay, there wasn't, but instead of a photo, she discovered something intriguing that made her heart race with anticipation.

"Adoption paper," she whispered. She opened the file carefully, and her jaw dropped when she saw what was inside.

"Jedrick Miller adopted by Mr and Mrs. Gerard and Celine Miller"

Eveline let out a nervous breath as something struck her abdomen forcefully, twisting her stomach in an odd way.

"Dad does in fact have a brother named Jedrick. So, does that imply he is also..." She could not finish her sentence because her doubts had not been cleared.

But she was relieved that she could confirm that the person Jedrick was indeed her father's brother and adoptive son to his grandparents, which was enough to raise doubts about his existence until now.

Eveline quickly packed everything and walked away; however, on her way back to her room, she noticed Susan, who appeared to be so preoccupied with her thoughts that she failed to notice her.
