"Nathalie!" he shouted, giving her a gentle push.

Nathalie stared at him, dazed, her stubborn gaze finally crumbling under the weight of her unshed tears. Her eyes were red, and in a sudden burst of desperation, she bit down hard on her wrist.

With no antidote in sight, she chose the path of self-harm.

"Nathalie," Morris called out, struggling out of his wheelchair, stumbling as he rushed to her side, and they both ended up tumbling to the floor.

"Nathalie, you can't do this to yourself."

Through her tears, Nathalie warned, "Nathan, if you can't give me an answer, then just go all the way and break my heart."

She pushed him aside and slammed her head against the table leg, blood immediately oozing from her forehead.

"Nathalie, stop it."

"I won't let you hurt yourself."

Morris wrapped his arms around the frantic Nathalie, holding her tightly to keep her safe.

"Nathan, I can't take this anymore. Don't stop me."

"I'll help you," Morris promised, his eyes wet with emotion. "I can't hurt you, so how could I let you hurt yourself?"

"Nathalie, I'm here for you. But you need to listen closely..." He cradled her face in his hands. "I want you, not just to rescue you. I genuinely love you. Deeply."
