Greta felt like Cameron had ripped her heart straight out of her chest. She couldn't breathe—she just collapsed on the floor, gasping for air.

"Cameron, I'm sick. Take me to the hospital," she rasped, her face flushing a scary shade of purple.

Cameron looked down at her, not a hint of the panic or tenderness he used to show. His eyes were cold, like he was staring at a stranger.

He let out an impatient sigh, pulled out his phone, and dialed 911.

"I called you an ambulance. That's all I can do for you now."

With that, Cameron turned and walked away.

Greta lay there, eyes red and stinging, watching his back as he left.

"Cameron, what if... even if Nellie gets her memory back, she still doesn't want to come back to you? After everything you've done to hurt her..."

"She will," Cameron said, his jaw clenched. "If she learns that everything I did was because I was manipulated, she'll forgive me."

"Your little schemes aren't going to work," he added through gritted teeth.
