Cameron rushed to explain, "Your Highness, you've got it all wrong. I never mistreated Nel. We really loved each other—I loved her more than anything. I never wanted her to die... After she gave birth, she fell into a terrible depression... I never wanted things to turn out like this."

But Nathan, wild with rage, slapped Cameron hard across the face, again and again. “Cameron, don't give me that. You lied to her, all for your precious Greta. You tricked Nel into giving up her kidney for Greta. Even when her own health was falling apart, you still wanted her to have your child. If you really cared about her, how could you keep piling one thing after another onto her, until her body just broke down? How could you take her kidney? How could you let her get pregnant with only one left? And how could you run off with Greta when Nel was crushed by depression?"

Cameron was drowning in guilt. "The biggest mistake I ever made was asking Nel to donate her kidney to Greta. I regretted it the moment we got married. Not a day has gone by that I haven't wished I could take it all back. But I never forced her to have a baby, and I never cheated. Once Nel and I were together, I loved her with everything I had."

Nathan's voice thundered, "What's the point of regret now? My Nathalie is gone— she's already dust in the ground. Cameron, in your next life, stay away from her. You're nothing but bad luck for her."

But Cameron desperately crawled back to the grave, refusing to leave. "I can't leave Nel. Your Highness, I know I messed up, but I begged Nel to forgive me, and these past years, I really did love her. For her, I learned to cook, I helped her start her fashion brand, I tried to be the best dad I could... Everyone said I spoiled Nel like she was a princess. Even she said, despite being sick, she was happy with me. Please, Your Highness, don't tear us apart."

Nathan kicked him away, his handsome eyes wild and red, almost animalistic. He lost control, yelling, "Cameron, no matter how good you were to her, she's dead. She's gone! And I want you to pay for it—"

But as soon as he grabbed Cameron, all the strength drained out of him, and he let go.

"No. I'm not letting you die. If you die, you'll just get to see her again. You don't deserve that. Cameron, she was once this bright, sunny, lively woman. After she met you, we watched her fade away right before our eyes. I'm not letting you two be together again."

With that, Nathan scooped up the sunflowers lying on the ground and set them in front of the gravestone. He stared at the headstone, his gaze turning hollow and lost.
