Alpha Mateo clearly hesitated, but alpha Henry just tilted his chin with that usual arrogance. “Let’s go. Leave this to Aubrey.”

His tone allowed no argument, as if he was the ultimate authority no matter where he stood. More importantly–by escorting me here in person, he was making one thing very clear to Mateo:
