That expression made Bailey’s stomach knot with unease. She couldn’t explain it–Aubrey was only an omega, while she was a beta werewolf, yet being under Aubrey’s eyes felt like having something razor–sharp scrape across her skin, leaving a sting in its wake.

Even her wolf, Sasha, muttered uneasily in her mind, “Strange… sometimes she doesn’t feel like a wolfless omega at all, but more like she’s radiating alpha pressure…”

Bailey’s eyelid twitched. Aubrey’s mother had been an alpha–level werewolf. And ever since they’d fallen out, Aubrey hadn’t been taking her wolf suppressants.

Panicked, Bailey tried sensing Aubrey’s level–then relaxed when she found only the familiar, lowly omega aura. As expected, after so many suppressants, it would take years for her to recover.
