From the sinkhole came the furious roars of werewolves, the splashing of water, the thrashing of fish tails. The chaos was deafening.

As the dust settled, Aubrey thought of walking closer to see the carnage, but the sun had already dipped below the horizon. Darkness fell all at once, and even if she went over, she wouldn’t be able to see anything.

She needed to expel the virus in her body as soon as possible–how much longer would this half–blindness last?
