Chapter 53 Are You Crazy?
“G-Gilbert.”
Kisa scaled the wall with difficulty, barely supported by her feet, with only eight inches of protruding edge of the wall.
“Are you crazy?” Gilbert yelled, reaching out to grab her.
Kisa was scared to death, breaking out in a cold sweat and shivering from the icy wind.
Gilbert felt a bit relieved when he finally got hold of her cold hand. Good thing she was so light. He then lifted her in like a tattered doll.
Kisa breathed a sigh of relief as soon as her feet landed, and her body fell limply to the floor.
Seeing her pale face, Gilbert reached out and closed the window. “At least you are smart enough to know where to hide. But this is the 30th floor; if you make the slightest mistake, you will fall to your death.” Gilbert said casually, but deep down inside , he was in trepidation. He always claimed that he wanted this woman to die, but at the critical moment, he still wanted this woman to live. He could not explain these contradictory thoughts.
“You think I want to hide there? If it weren’t for Anthony’s sudden coming, I would have been asleep.”
Kisa said. When the thought of Anthony’s conversation with Gilbert came to mind, she could not help but feel angry and wronged. “What did you do to that guy? He mightn’t dare to touch you, but I’m the one in trouble.” After hearing their conversation, she finally learned that Anthony was after her because he had found out that she was probably Gilbert’s ex-wife.
‘It looks like Anthony wants to harm anyone related to Gilbert. And the reason he doesn’t dare to touch Sharon is that Sharon is too famous. So he comes after me instead. I couldn’t be more hapless. Gilbert doesn’t care about me, and I have to face this danger not because of my but Gilbert’s own doing.’ The more Kisa thought about it, the more pissed she became.
Seeing the woman on the floor in grief, Gilbert could not help but sneer. “Since you have become my wife by calculation, then you should bear the consequences. You think being my wife is easy?”
Kisa laughed. If she could start over, she would not choose to marry a man like him, who was unfeeling and ungrateful, even if she was given a few hundred million dollars. She fought back her resentment and frowned at him. “If there are no venomous personal grudges, then you should go and make amends and apologize to Anthony.” She did not know Anthony well, but judging from what happened tonight, she knew Anthony would not leave her alone easily. Since Gilbert had messed with him, Anthony would leave her alone as soon as Gilbert
settled the feud with Anthony. But Gilbert did not care about her, so it was impossible for him to apologize to Anthony for her.
‘What should I do then? I don’t want to die for nothing in the hands of Anthony because of this man.’
As expected, Gilbert snickered. “Do you think I would go and apologize to a man like that?”
“So you are just going to watch me get killed by him?”. She suddenly realized how redundant and ridiculous to say that. After all, Gilbert had wanted her dead in the first place. Thinking about it, she looked down sadly. “If it had been Sara, he would have fought to the death to protect her. After all, I’m a nobody compared to Sara in his heart.’
Gilbert stared into her downcast eyes with a bit of guilt inside him. He knew Kisa had nothing to do with what happened between Anthony and him. But that slight guilt that had risen inside him evaporated when Kisa uttered her next sentence.
