Mikayla knocked on the door politely. "Is Libby there?"

The crying inside stopped. After a while, the door opened from inside. Libby's voice cracked after sobbing. "Who is it?" She looked up and saw Mikayla.

When Mikayla saw that face clearly, she understood where those women's comments came from. It turned out that the owner of this room was the woman who bumped into her when she served tea yesterday. Libby was only in her early 20s. However, she looked jaded and beyond her age. She had already changed from the Ludwig family's housekeeper uniform into a plain red cotton coat because of the resignation. "Are you Libby Newman?" Mikayla probed.

Libby lowered her head and wiped her tears. "Yes, I am."

"Can I come inside?" Mikayla stood at the door and asked, but she went straight inside.

Libby was timid. Seeing Mikayla come in, she asked weakly, "Mrs. Ludwig, are you looking for me?"

"Close the door and pour me a glass of water," Mikayla answered while observing the room. There were two doors in the narrow room. One was the door she had just entered, directly opposite the corridor of the mansion; and the other door was connected to the lawn outside through the window. However, this door was blocked by Libby's bed. Mikayla noticed traces of movement under the bed, which had not been moved for a long time.

Everything fell into place at that moment.

Libby found a clean cup in the room and obediently poured Mikayla a glass of water.

Mikayla accepted the glass from Libby, but she didn't drink it. Instead, she saw two suitcases at the end of the bed, which were already full. "They said you've resigned? Don't be scared. I don't care about what happened yesterday." Seeing Libby standing silently with her head down, Mikayla smiled faintly. "The Ludwig mansion is a good place for housekeepers like you. Are you crying in your room because you're reluctant to leave? Well, you don't have to quit your job because of this. There are many places outside where housekeepers are either beaten or scolded. I've seen too much. Where else can you find a place as comfortable as the Ludwig mansion?"

Those words seemed to strike a chord with Libby. The tears that she held back with much difficulty fell again. "I don't want to leave either. Mr. Ludwig, Mrs. Selena Ludwig, and their daughter treat me like family."
