Chapter 1332 Long Lost the Courage to Refuse

Paul dabbed his lips with a napkin after finishing his porridge.

Ann, sensing the moment, gathered the dishes from the table and headed toward the kitchen. He watched as she tied on a black apron with delicate lace trim.

Soon, the sound of running water echoed from the kitchen.

Paul remained seated at the table. He wasn't one to panic when faced with unusual circumstances. Upon waking, his mind had been largely blank-an unfamiliar room, an unfamiliar woman. Yet he hadn't asked the obvious questions about where he was or who he might be. Such questions seemed pointless; if his memory loss stemmed from injury, it would return in time.

When Ann returned, he extended his hand, silently requesting help back to the bedroom.

Ann wasn't certain about the extent of his amnesia, though the doctor had mentioned that Paul's injuries had been severe only his strong constitution had pulled him through. Now, he seemed to be recovering remarkably well.

After helping him to the bedroom, Paul's gaze fell on the neatly made small bed with its meticulously folded blanket. His eyes then drifted to the partially open closet, where several sets of his clothes hung, perfectly pressed.

For reasons he couldn't explain, he felt a deep sense of comfort. Something about Ann's attentiveness felt right.
