Chapter 1351 What If You Insult Me and Make Me Leave?

Raymond had spoken only the truth. Only by understanding the consequences could Ann decide what to do next.

Ann sat frozen, watching him open the door and leave. Her mind replayed memories of her past with Paul-his perpetual expressionless face, his mocking and humiliating words.

Aside from physical desire, his only kindness came because he found her sexually satisfying something he'd admitted himself. Paul hadn't been with other women; he hadn't even wanted to try. His contempt for women was bone-deep.

Ann had been the exception when she'd climbed into his bed. Though disgusted, he'd reasoned that since he'd already slept with her once, a few more times wouldn't matter. It provided release. With such thoughts, why would he ever treat Ann kindly?

She remained on the sofa until her body grew stiff. Eventually, Paul came downstairs and embraced her.
