I paced back and forth with my arms crossed together, waiting for Drystan to call us back. Behind me, Giselle sat in silence, her gaze fixed on the empty hallway, waiting for someone to appear and call us.

The minutes ticked by, each one feeling like an eternity. My brows are furrowed with worry, my mind racing with a thousand possible scenarios, each one more dire than the last.
