Before I could give much thought to what Asha's true intentions were, the door suddenly slammed open, stealing all of our attention.

Alpha Theron suddenly burst out of the door with a wide grin on his face. "Astrid is awake!" he cried, his voice brimming with unbridled joy. Without a moment's hesitation, I entered Astrid's room and rushed to her bedside with my heart pounding with a mixture of hope and trepidation.
