As Grace was being escorted out of the house, she couldn't hold back the question. "What's wrong with Mr. Henderson?"

Tim's voice was calm. "He's fine. He's just a little shaken up. He's also been running on no sleep lately."

She took a few steps toward the car, then paused. "Is he still having insomnia? I can stay here tonight if that helps. I'll leave first thing in the morning."

Tim stood by the car door and drew in a quiet breath. "Ms. Lambert, take care. Happy holidays."

That was his polite way of turning her down.

Once Grace got in the car, she didn't go home. Instead, she found herself outside Liam's ward.

Her mind had been a mess the whole ride over, tangled up in thoughts of Ethan. She couldn't figure out his motives, and that uncertainty gnawed at her.

Grace had so much she wanted to say, but standing there, she just felt... tired. She lingered at his bedside for a long while before managing to say, "I'm glad you're okay."
