Chapter 304: The Day I was Mistaken as a Murderer

Touching the ruined and run-down furniture inside the mansion, Inez sucked in a breath. Her gaze turned as she looked around the entire living hall; though no more memories surged forth, there was still a nagging sensation within her body. The painful tug of recognizing this place, but not being able to remember it.

"Do you remember anything else?" Scarlet asked Inez.

Inez shook her head and replied with a shake of her head, "I cannot remember anything else. It has been so many years; I —I can’t remember much about this space." She couldn’t help but take a few more looks around the room. Walking over to the wooden cabinet that was half burnt, she pulled it open and peered inside it. She noticed a few cobwebs at the corners of the cabinet with spiders dangling from them.

Her eyes flickered to one side when she caught something gleaming. It was a brooch. A rather delicate and exquisite brooch, with marks of the past and the present left on it, but despite that, it was still intact. Inez reached out and pulled it out of the cabinet. Clutching the cold metal in her hands, she tried to remember something, anything related to her father, but she couldn’t.

At least she was sure about one thing. This was where she had lived with her parents, and her mother was no omega, as she had claimed to be. While most of the memories didn’t return to her, Inez had at least an answer to one of her questions.
