Chapter 339: Clash of Witches

Morga scrambled backwards, her claws dragging on the floor as she eyed Tracy warily. "You speak as if you have never shed blood. By the way, why are you interfering now? did you not swear that you shall never intervene in the matters of the shifters and the witches? Centuries of silence and now you are suddenly appearing out of thin air? What got into your panties?"

"You don’t have the authority to question me, Morga." Tracy snapped her fingers and a small puddle of water appeared under her feet; it trickled and frothed before washing away the blood sigils drawn on the floor. The symbols hissed like countless snakes before disappearing into thin air. "Now, where is your body?" she raised her head and looked at the figure of the thin girl. "I know as a matter of fact that this is not your true body; you are way too sly and cautious. You will never disclose yourself so easily unless you have another nice, tricky escape plan waiting for you."

The witch laughed, her laugh like nails scratching on the blackboard. It had always been annoying and unpleasant, just like the rotten heart that she carried within her chest.

"Perhaps you are forgetting that you no longer hold any authority over me, Tristana. We are not students, and our teacher is not here. You cannot demand answers from me and expect me to tell you the truth."

"Then tell me, why are you here... this question is simple enough for you to understand with that little IQ you have?" Tracy looked down at her nails, clicking her tongue when she noticed that they were chipped at odd angles. "I don’t see any reason for you to come and bother these shifters."

She laughed again, higher this time. "I assure you that I was no bother. They were quite happy and ...hospitable once I told them that I can give them what they wanted."

Tracy grimaced, realizing that Morga had been hiding chunks of her soul, making promises and handing temptations to the weak, like the alpha of the Silver Dawn pack.

The last time the two of them met, Tracy had destroyed her body but she couldn’t destroy the pieces of this woman’s soul that she hid away right before the shell that she was occupying exploded sending blood and flesh all over the land.

Rebuilding her strength must have taken years; maybe that was why Inez was able to grow up. If not for the grudge this woman was carrying against her mother, Morga would have killed Inez when she was a baby.
