Chapter 54

Xavier POV

As we walk onto the grounds, Regan’s eyes are lit with wonder, taking in the fairy lights, the large bonfire, the tables and chairs, and the refreshments and food. Pack members are everywhere socializing; some are dancing with each other, while others eat and drink. The omegas are walking around, and 1 quickly grab two glasses of champagne, one for me and one for her, while Xander grabs one for himself. I hand Regan a glass she screws up her nose, looking down at the glass doubtfully. I remember that she hadn’t had champagne before, let alone alcohol, and gave a small smile to myself.

“Try it I urged, and she willingly parted her luscious pink lips, sipping delicately at the liquid and letting it trickle down her

Her eyes widened in surprise, and she looked at me and Xander with a wide smile, “It’s fruity,” she exclaimed.

“We figured you were more of the sweet kind” I teased, and she grinned, taking another sip and looking around, her eyes appreciative and her excitement continuing to grow.

“It’s so beautiful” she whispers, glancing around everywhere.

“May I have this dance?” I asked her, giving a small bow as she giggled and Xander glared at me, causing Regan to study us both thoughtfully, her eyes twinkling as she considered what to do.

We move a little closer to the bonfire, putting our hands on her waist, my body pressing up against the front of her, Xanders, against the back, wedging her between the both of us. It’s insting, putting our mate in the middle, protecting her while also being possessive at the same time.

It’s the first time she’s let us touch her so freely and we are cautious, not wanting to take too much advantage, but enjoying the feel of our mate and the trust she’s showing in the both of us. I meet Xander’s eyes, knowing he feels the same way. I grab her chin and kiss her lips, moving my hand to pull her body in against me before moving back slightly, Xander pulling her so that she turns her head to the side before he claims her lip as well in a possessive manner. Who has the nerve to call our mate a slut, right to our faces? I grow furious, watching with disappointment as Regan’s hand drops, stopping her exploration of my body. Damnit.
