I could still feel the throbbing pain in my back as I began to approach the cabin from the rear. Somehow it wasn’t surprising to see it there. They had to have somewhere to house Regan while they were waiting for us. I kept myself low, my eyes scanning every direction but sensing nothing was amiss. Perhaps I thought with a bit of a frown, they were all inside and had made provisions for when we gained access. It was the only thing that made sense. Clearly, Alpha Kai had not brought men with him. This was to our advantage. I had thought he would be wise enough to have some form of security outside the premises he was keeping Regan though.
